Kirste (she/her) is a writer, digital illustrator, and producer from the Riverland, South Australia. With a Bachelor of Creative Writing under her belt, Kirste has developed creative projects like Letters to Blue (2020), produced the workshop mini-festival Symposium (2021) to support young creatives, and produced Portal: Fantasy Workshop Festival (2022) for her community of passionate Riverland fantasy writers.
In 2022, Kirste worked with Writers SA on the Ruby Award winning No Limits: Young Regional Writers team as the Riverland Coordinator. During this time, Kirste primarily supported young Riverlanders and other regional-living South Australian creatives by developing projects, events, and commissions. Kirste feels strongly about supporting young regional creatives and will continue advocating for visibility, support, accessibility, and opportunity for those creatives.
From writing about mermaids, forest witches, and psychics, to drawing her favourite over-powered anime characters, and developing the fantasy festival Portal, she lives for all things magical and ensures all areas of her work reflect that love. And if fairy wings don’t sprout from her back, or if fire doesn’t spark from her palms someday soon she’ll face her destiny as a Capricorn villain.
